650b/27.5″ Carbon Monster Wheels
This wheelset is designed for backcountry endurance racing or heavyweight touring on 45mm/1.8″ or larger tyres. When designing these wheels the focus was on strength and absolute reliability.
32 Sapim Race spokes, with Trailmech XCR hubs, and our own T700/800 rims make these wheels virtually indestructible. Come the apocalypse, you’ll be glad these are the wheels you invested in.
Our rims are made from a high quality mix of T700/T800 carbon fibre, for the perfect mix of compliance and stiffness, lightness and strength. With a 35mm external width, 30mm hookless internal width, and 25mm depth these rims are super-strong without compromising on weight.
Our Trailmech hubs are some of the finest XCR hubs on the market, and with their patented Vortex ratchet engagement system power transfer is almost instant offering between 6 and 7.2 degrees of travel. It’s not only quick, but also strong – the unique vortex design means that the more force you put through the pedals, the harder the ratchet engages reducing the risk of slippage.
As with all ratchet hubs, the sound of the freewheel is a distinctive (and loud) mark of quality so be prepared to get used to that ‘angry bee’ sound, and wonder how you lived without it before.
Inside these beautiful CNC alloy hubs, you’ll find high-quality Japanese EZO bearings for high efficiency and low maintenance.
