This policy explains what personal information Zolla Wheels Limited (“Zolla”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use zolla.cc or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We keep it short and we only collect what we need to build, deliver and support your wheels.
Who we are
Zolla Wheels Limited is the data controller for the information described here. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15439481, registered office 12 The Ridge, Bussage, Stroud, GL6 8HD. For anything to do with your data, email hello@zolla.cc.
What we collect and why
When you place an order
Your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number and the details of what you ordered. We use this to build and deliver your wheels, to contact you about your order, to handle returns and warranty claims, and to keep the accounting records the law requires. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you and complying with our legal obligations.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. We receive confirmation that payment was made, plus limited details such as the card type and last four digits.
When you get in touch
If you email us, use a form on the site or message us on social media, we keep what you send so we can reply and help. If you ask us to advise on a build, we may keep notes of your riding and set-up so we can support you later. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry, or taking steps at your request before a contract.
Reviews and comments
If you leave a product review or comment, we publish the name you give and your review. Your email address is kept private. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet, which receives the comment, your IP address and browser details.
When you browse the site
Like most websites, our server logs technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working. We also use the analytics and marketing tools described under Cookies below.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies to run your basket and checkout, keep you logged in if you have an account, and protect the site. These are needed for the shop to work.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which tell us how people find and use the site so we can improve it.
- Marketing cookies from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which help us understand how our posts and adverts perform.
Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting analytics or marketing cookies, and you can change your mind at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the shop may not work without the essential ones.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only what they need:
- Stripe, to take payments
- Couriers and Royal Mail, to deliver your order
- Hostinger, who host our website, and our email provider
- Google and Meta, for the analytics and marketing tools described above
- Our accountants, and HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it
Some of these providers, such as Stripe, Google and Meta, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK-US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records: six years after the end of the financial year of the sale, as tax law requires. Because our warranty runs for five years, this also lets us support your wheels for their warranty period.
- Emails and enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to two years.
- Published reviews and event listings: until you ask us to remove them or we take them down.
- Analytics data: in line with the retention settings of the tools concerned.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another organisation. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Some rights have limits, for example we must keep order records for tax purposes. Email hello@zolla.cc and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way we use your data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
